I had seen images of the Taj Mahal in pictures, movies, ads and so on. Until I saw it myself, I had no real idea of the grandeur of the actual place. I wanted to take a picture that was different than the cliché post cards. I saw the minaret and waited until the sun to set and used a 400mm Canon DO IS lens with 100ASA Velvia film. I used a 2x extender making my lens an 800mm lens. I braced the camera against a flat wall and photographed it at f8, for 15 seconds.
